Microsoft outlook 2016 add email account free download

I have 2 email accounts from my Internet server. On my old laptop, they’re both set up in Outlook and both work as they should, send and receive. I can not set up my second email account. I can not get to Step 5. Once I’m done with Step 4, I get a different screen. It gives me 6 options to choose from like Yahoo, Office , pop and imap. And a message to contact my email server for troubleshooting because something went wrong. Just spent an hour with a tech shadowing my computer.

No luck. Couldn’t figure it out. We’ve been trying the imap option. I did try the pop version and was able to set up the account, but it wouldn’t receive email, so I deleted it. Everytime after I complete up to Step 4, Outlook adds another folder to the left side of the screen that shows my email address. Literally dozens of folders with the email address after all the unsuccessful attempts. The tech at Telus has verified there is nothing wrong with my second email address from their viewpoint.

On my old laptop, both my email addresses would drop into my Inbox. I’d like to have it work the same way on my new computer. I’ve been using these email addresses for 20 years. I’d rather not quit on the one that won’t set up on my new laptop. This thread is locked.

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. The steps in that article are similar to the Telus set up. I can get through the first 4 steps: go to file, account settings, click new.

I do not get an “add new account dialog box”. That is the missing step that I can not get to. Here’s what happens after Step 4, add new:. And yes I know the correct password, confirmed it with my Internet provider’s tech. It’s the same password as my other email address that is working correctly on Outlook.

Clicking retry brings me back to the same message. If I click account type, it brings me to the same screen as if I’d chosen the advanced option in the screen print above:.

The settings are all how they should be according to the Telus instructions. I click Next and see this asking for the password again:. So it’s just circling around when all I really want is to get to that new account dialog box in Step 5. I tried the Exchange button above even though I had no idea what that is.

All it did was ask me for my password, spin about, ask for the password again, then again, until I closed the screen. Again, I had a Tech shadow my computer for about an hour trying different things and he suggested I check with Microsoft. So here I am. Any suggestions on how I can get around the above and get to the dialog box I need? We appreciate your response. Although you have already verified with your service provider that your credentials are correct, we recommend that you try to verify with them if the incoming and outgoing mail servers are correct as well.

Another option that we have is to repair Outlook. Kindly follow the steps below:. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.
